Life Teen Update

Life Teen H.S. Youth Group

 

We have now begun our 2013-14 year, all high school youth are welcome to join us on Wednesday nights from 6:15pm to 7:15pm in the youth room in Sacred Heart School.  It is in the room with yellow walls next to the Arts + Crafts room on the top floor.  This year we have combined the 9th grade Religious Education students with our Life Teen students.  We are now focusing especially on building our faith, and growing closer to Jesus, to strengthen the students for the critical high school and college years. Please pray for us as we begin a new year.

    The Immersion Retreat will be November 9th and 10th at the Chula Vista Resort in the Wisconsin Dells.  This years theme is "Build your Kingdom Here".  The keynote speaker is Chris Padgett, and there will be live music by "Traditional Division".  The cost is $130 per person.  Please contact David Alcott if you are interested in joining us for this life-changing retreat.

 

Pilgrimage for Life

January 19th -23rd, 2014 is the Pilgrimage for Life in Washington D.C.  Please contact David Alcott if you are interested in participating in January. The cost is to be determined.  This is a great opportunity to pray and witness for the unborn.

Life Teen Update, Skating party tomorrow

Hi everyone,
You are welcome to join us at Melody Gardens tomorrow Wednesday from
6-8pm, this will be our last regularly scheduled Life Teen meeting until
the Fall. I would like to set up a special event or two over the
summer, so please let me know if there are weekends to avoid. Also don't
forget to attend Totus Tuus this summer at Sacred Heart (August
4th-9th), I highly recommend it. You are all in my prayers.

Life Teen Update: Guest Speaker

Hi everyone,
Tomorrow night Amy Gachnang will visit to tell us her story on how she
found her vocation to be a religious sister. Tomorrow night will also
be our last regularly scheduled Life Teen, as the week following is the
Skating party. I would like to get together over the summer once or
twice for a local retreat (Patrick Dolan's house) and possibly a trip.
Let me know if you have any weekends this summer already committed.

You are invited and please find attached a flyer for our up and coming pilgrimage to St Anthony retreat center.  It costs nothing and we only take the clothes on our backs. There will be a van that travels along side the group for any emergencies.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Life Teen Update, Shadow Stations tomorrow 3/27 @6:30pm

Hi everyone,
Just a reminder, tomorrow we will not meet at Sacred Heart School, but
at the Shadow stations in the Columbus gym at 6:30pm. See the details
below.

This Thursday, you are invited to the Holy Thursday Mass
at 6pm at Sacred Heart. Lets finish Lent strong! Please get to Confession
during Lent if you haven't done so already, to receive the infinite mercy
of Christ.

Shadow Stations

What are Shadow Stations?
It is the passion of Christ presented live by the youth of
St. John's and Christ the King using biblically narrated
accounts, music, reflection, special effects, prayer, and a live
multicolor re-enactment of the last hours of Christ's earthly
life done in "shadows."
This multimedia presentation follows the last stages or
"stations" of Christ's human life. It allows everyone a more
personal experience of both the pain and triumph of Jesus. In
less than an hour, the depth of the shadows, draw you in to allow
you to share in Christ's passion by truly "walking with
him" in the final hours of His life.
